Himalayan Echoes Festival
returns for its milestone 11th edition this October in Nainital. Rooted in the rich cultural fabric of the Himalayas, this boutique festival brings together voices from literature, art, ecology, and the culinary world. Set against the misty pines of Abbotsford Estate, the festival offers an intimate space for dialogue, storytelling, and exchange — celebrating mountain heritage while engaging with urgent global conversations. For more information, email us at himalayanechoes@gmail.com.

Venue
Abbotsford Estate, Nainital
Abbotsford Estate, home to the celebrated Himalayan Echoes literature festival, is Nainital’s only boutique heritage homestay. Built in 1876, this 11-room property, spanning Abbotsford House, Wordsworth Cottage, and the premium Apsley House, offers a timeless country-home charm. Tucked away in a serene corner of Nainital, it has been featured in Conde Nast Traveller (India, 2009). Festival guests also enjoy Café Chica, the estate’s alfresco dining experience, serving fresh, organic fare, including the famed Kumaoni Thali, against a backdrop of mountain views, walnut and oak groves, and birdsong.
